The Selective Service Registration records indicate that Obama received a 1H Classification. Class 1-H means "Registrant is Not Subject to Processing for Induction."
Typically, registrants are given a 1-A Classification, which mean "Available for unrestricted military"
If Obama received ANY other type of classification other than 1-A, he would have had to applied for it, which means that there is an additional file on him.

you will see that when someone registers for the Selective Service, in order to get a Classification that is NOT 1-A, the person registering has to request it.

I really didn't understand the Selective Service Classifications until I performed some research.
The thread, pertaining to Karl Rove's Classification, indicates that Class 1H NEVER gets drafted. I have yet to find an explanation why. But, essentially, this Classification is a "get out of war free card."
Again, it is my understanding that in order for Obama to be given this type of classification, he MUST have provided evidence as to WHY he felt that he qualified for a 1H Classification.
Could it be because he said he was MUSLIM? Did the Military make special exceptions for MUSLIMS at that time or was it because he was NOT A US CITIZEN?
Here's some info about MUSLIMS and the Selective Service. I'm not sure if this pertains to Obama, but it is quite interesting.
In any case, according to the law, Obama was required to register for the Selective Service and he had to present Identification, which he DID NOT. You will see from the form that the "No ID" box is check marked.
Therefore, Obama DID NOT comply with the law, which is as follows:
Proclamation 4771–Registration Under the Military Selective Service Act

1-302. When reporting for registration each person shall present for inspection reasonable evidence of his identity. After registration, each person shall keep the Selective Service System informed of his current address.
I don't know whether or not the Selective Service Registration Form is a Forgery. It appears that Obama
registered the date/month/year he was suppose to register. The SS Proclamation outlines the requirements for males born in 1960 and 1961 and it appears that Obama did comply.
However, Obama DID NOT comply with "each person SHALL present for inspection reasonable evidence of his identity." SHALL means MUST!
Could Obama's non-compliance make him INELIGIBLE to hold public office (see http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Selective_Service_System). If this is the case, then the birth certificate and/or dual citizenship may not even matter. Obama would have NEVER been eligible to hold ANY public office.
So the real question is, DID Obama WILLFULLY withhold documentation that would verify his identity?
Whatever the case, the Selective Service MUST have additional written documentation on Obama in a special Selective Service file pertaining to his 1H Classification. Therefore, is it worth a visit to the Local Selective Service Board in Hawaii, or could these files be obtained through an FOIA request?
I just have a "nagging gut feeling" that there is something more to this and no one has bothered to investigate. Looking into it just might yield some valuable information.

Probably all the registrants at that time were given a 1-H status since there was no draft in place then. The 1-H could change to another status if a draft was instituted or the registrant exceeds the age limit, whichever comes first. Barry's hiding something, but it isn't that.
Based on my research, everyone is classified as 1-H when they register. If a draft commences, everyone is re-classified as 1-A or 5-A (26 yrs old and over). Barry's classification is typical. The only way to receive a different classification is to petition the local draft board prior to the date of induction.
Very informative Jean! As always, every close inspection of Obamas' historical documentation that are public have raised more questions than answers. Why is it that once a proof is submitted to the public that there can be a FOIA blocked by the party proposing that document as a proof? Shouldn't the SS be required to answer in a full and complete way? Why would there be a need to hide anything?
When I registered for the slective service system in June of 1972, the recruiter put me in 1-H classification and I did'not even request it nor did I make any application for 1-H. Their was an issue of me failing so many grades in elementry school and middle school the school board did'not allow me to finnish school. When I was 16 they pulled me out of school for good when they knew I was also going to fail the 8th grade.
That was in May of 1970. I never did know if that had any thing to do with my 1-H classification.
I also registered for the draft in 1972, and I also received a 1H - I did not ask for any classification and often wondered why I received that rather than 1A.

I registered in 1969 and had a 1A status, My buddy and I went to inlist in the Airforce. I told my parents what we were planning to do. We went and took our physicals and waited. a month later, I recieved a new draft card in the mail with a status of 1H. I found out latter in life, my mother had close political friends and she convinced them that because I was the only male left,(sole surviving son)to have the right people change my draft status. I foregave her for that but at the time was really gun-ho with my friends.
EVERYONE gets 1-H when they register while there is no draft. Obama's age (not his connections) means he was 1-H. Selective Service classifications are straightforward enough. If you were born in 1958, for example, you were 1-H

Birthers, eat your heart out. President Obama and the First Lady and their girls will always be the First Family in the White House! He will always be a president of the USA. Obama was required to register for selective service in 1980. Beginning in 1972 all new registrants were classified 1-H. The last lottery drawing was held on March 20, 1974 for processing birth year 1955. The last processing number for birth year 1955 was 95. Justice Roberts missed the draft by 10 months and his number would have been 323. True information is out there! Be a real researcher - not a witch hunter.
