When certifying presidential and vice presidential nominees and requesting that such nominees be placed on the ballot, the state committees of each political party shall provide verifiable evidence of identity and proof of natural born citizenship. -Source.

UPDATE: The so-called “eligibility bill” passed by the Missouri state House is a joke because all it demands is that presidential candidates be US citizens. HB 121 says:
“115.399. 1. Not later than the twelfth Tuesday prior to each presidential election, or notwithstanding any prior laws to the contrary, in the year 1996 and thereafter, within seven working days after choosing its nominees for president and vice president of the United States, whichever is later, the state committee of each established political party shall certify in writing to the secretary of state the names of its nominees for president and vice president of the United States. Such certification shall include proof of identity and proof of United States citizenship for each nominee.”
In other words, the Missouri bill if passed into law does not require a presidential candidate to produce proof that s/he is a Natural Born Citizen required by the Constitution for the presidency, but merely that s/he is a U.S. citizen. That means Arnold Schwarzenegger and I — immigrants who became naturalized US citizens — can both run for the presidency!

The problem we have is that Congress appears to either not know the definition of NBC or not really care. NBC does not mean someone who was born in the US whose parents are not citizens; it also doesn't mean a foreign-born child of a U.S. citizen is a NBC. The child must be born either in the U.S. or U.S. territory to 2 U.S. citizens who are citizens at the time of the birth, no matter where they themselves were born. Dual citizenship is also not recognized as NBC status. The Founding Fathers wanted to make sure that POTUS didn't have any foreign allegiances.
Obama was born a British Subject to a British dad of Kenyan origin and became an Indonesian citizen when he moved to Indonesia. It is probable that he attended Occidental College as a foreign student and there's no proof that he ever reclaimed U.S. citizenship, if he ever had it to begin with as it appears the longform BC may be a fraud.

Here is my concern: Now that Obama released this fraud, they will all jump on board, anxious to get away from the debate, certify him according to the bogus document and basically do what all nervous politicians do: find an intellectually lazy avenue that provides the least actual resistance while pontificating about fighting for what's right.
The only way to keep any control now is to contact the governors of each state and tell them if the law passes their state, if their official in charge (whoever that may be according to the laws of each state) qualify Obama according to a long form document that is highly questionable at best (remember, it came "officially" from the White House - Oooooh!), that they - the governors - can start looking for a new job because many millions of "birthers" strong will use their influence with the tea parties to see that they - the governors - are looking for a new job in Jan of 2013.
Before Obama can be qualified according to this document, it has to meet certain forensic qualification first, and so far it is an "epic fail".
Once again, we must remind our leaders that assuming the unthinkable is impossible is how Presidents drag their lovers through the mud until caught by the evidence of their own ejaculations, and dictators burn 6 million Jews alive before it's too late to stop them. The long form birth certificate put up by the white house is a pathetic forgery, and every college- age photoshop student who took the trouble to look knows it.
It isn't like the birth certificate might be real. It's a fake. Everyone knows it. For sure.

I am also worried about the same thing ... Obama's showing and/or giving his FAKE BC as proof of eligibility without anyone verifying its authenticity. I read one of your previous post and you are 100% correct as to the reasons the BC is a fake.
By the way, one of my best buddies is a graphic designer, editor and co-author of computer graphics tutorials. In fact since the release of Obama's fake BC, she (friend) has given several interviews(graphics expert)for various magazines and a FOX news affiliate discussing and demostrating how it is fake (layers, etc... the same reasons you gave in a previous post).
This same friend and I have been researching Obama's past for approx. 3 years now. Before the 08election we did everything in our power (mass emails, phone calls, faxes etc...)to expose this fraud "Obama" and prevent people from voting for him.
I have read several of your post on this site and I just wanted to say that "I am on the same page as you"! (I agree with everything you have written.)

Do you have links as to videos or articles in which your friend has given evidence. I'm hooked, now. So far almost every analysis I've tested checks out. Prognosis: fraudulent document.
This fraud - and the press cover-up - is simply unbelievable. I wonder if there has ever been anything like it in US history. Clinton, Watergate, nothing even remotely compares: a communist president ushered into office by a press that plays him up, implicitly covers up his whole history and humiliates his critics into silence and submission. It really is true. They call us crazy but it's actually, completely true - very word of it. Astounding. Terrible and awful, but astounding.
God help me for saying it, but Joe McCarthy was right. He was right in every word I have read that he said. We dropped our guard, and now it is coming to pass - almost. I do believe we're stopping it, but it was a close call, and there is still much to do.
This can simply never happen again. We need to send communism in America back to the stone age by whatever legal means possible. Since these are the means they employ, there is no choice. It must be vanquished.
I have been writing to sites since the Arizona legislation, which I wrote to Jan Brewer and asked her to veto, that a bill that does NOT require documentation of Parental Citizenship at birth of candidate, does NOT conform to the requirements of the Constitution. These States are proposing these bills that will allow a Candidate on the ballot and call him "Constitutionally Eligible" if Candidate can show proof of "Citizenship" only (no requirement to prove "Natural Born Citizenship") in that the only documentation required is a Birth Certificate and proof of meeting residency requirements. These bills are purposefully leaving out the Parental Citizenship requirements should be strenuously opposed on that basis. If these bills pass, (and I'm afraid they will because there is a clamor to pass them from the "Birther Side")the Constitution will have been amended without resorting to the Article V process. A disaster! - Oppose these Bills for the good of the Country unless they contain language that requires documentation of Parental Citizenship.

These bills don't bypass Article V - they are, in essence, the state level version of the same thing and strengthen it. However, the issue of citizenship status of parents SHOULD be included and people writing to the state legislators may want to cite the reasons cited in the resolution that McCain allowed to run and serve as president: the primary reason being BOTH McCain's parents were US citizens. That is a fact of the resolution and we should not tread gently or be timid about citing it.
Since Obama himself signed the resolution, no one on either side should have any complaints about it being included in the new state eligibility laws.
I live in Missouri. I do not think the Gov. will sign this bill.

I have read many of your comments on these pages and have a great respect for your opinion, however, I respectfully disagree with you on this issue. ANY bill that passes in a state legislature that does NOT require documentation of Parental Citizenship will have the effect of "redefining" the term "Natural Born Citizen" to mean "Native Born Citizen" or "Citizen". Why do I say this? Well, the most obvious reason is that if the only documentation required is the Birth Certificate and proof that Candidate meets residency requirements; you will never get to know about the Parental Citizenship. Candidate submits Birth Certificate and Residency proof and Bingo! He/she will be on the ballot. This is in effect amending the meaning of Article II Section I without resorting to Article V. The States have no authority to "redefine" terms in the Constitution (Even the Senate resolution passed for McCain is "Toothless" because the only Authority that can interpret the Constitution is SCOTUS). In addition I am willing to bet that the SOSs will NEVER ask for MORE documentation than is demanded by the law and the Courts will be of no more assistance in solving this issue than they have been to date. We have one shot at this, if these bills are passed, WE will have to live with the "Redefined meaning" of "Natural Born Citizen" (to mean simply "Citizen")- The Debate will be effectively over. Keep fighting the good fight my friend and don't ever quit. We'll get there!

Right now there is NO law. Having a half-assed one that can be tweaked is how good laws often develop into existence. If we wait for perfection we'll be waiting forever. Get this one in place and then demand an amendment, and threaten to only vote for the candidate will will ensure one.
Idealism cost us dearly in 2008 when idealists and obots pretending to be them started demanding only conservative purity from imperfect human candidates; enough conservatives stayed home or voted third party that we got Obama.
No more. Take what we can get and build on that foundation. One half-assed law will result in people complaining about it so loudly that the next law to appear may not dare not have the parent's citizenship aspect excluded. And then we've got 'em.
There's no magic one-time solution. Freedom is slowly fought and never won - only ever simply "maintained". That is how we live free. That's how this situation will need to be won and managed also. half-assed first, better later. Shooting down our own law right out of the gate will simply stifle any forward momentum entirely.
Let them pass and sign it and then express your outrage over the imperfections to the next guy, so he dare not make the same mistake. You might even get the first law amended. That's how it works.
