Our sheriff has always been excellent at correcting the record if the media says that he said something that he didn't say. He already did that when worldnetdaily got him wrong on a minor point.
If he didn't say or imply that the posse inquiry could take up to five years, he'll correct it in his next press conference, rest assured.
"Up to five years" includes being finished in a week or two, as well.

If you win, a lawsuit can't be deemed frivolous or false.
Liberals are better than conservatives at "judge shopping" for liberal judges who will rule the way they want.

When Sheriff Joe said "five years" he was talking about the maximum length of time that a citizen posse is constituted for.
The only constitutional legal action that can be taken against a President is impeachment for High Crimes and Misdemeanors by the House of Representatives and conviction on charges by the US Senate on a two-thirds vote, which results in removal from office. Once a former president is removed from office, he could be arrested, convicted and jailed but not while serving in office.
Up to five years. You got to be kidding. He's just playing with this to get a minute or two of attention and they blow it off like all the others.

When he met with the 300 people did he act the same as he did in this interview. Did he indicate to them it would take up to 5 years if they want him to look into it. If I heard that I would gotten very upset and said we don't have that much time the primary and Nov 2012 is coming up soon, what good would it do five years from now. Someone needs to go back to him and ask him about this five year thing. That's not acceptable. If there is tons of material that needs to be looked at then that would indicate to me that there is something going on that needs examining. Keep the pressure on or forget using him.

Maybe so. If you say publicly that the investigation should take - say - 60 days, then, in 59 days, Barky's people have all their bullshit excuses, lies and forged docs ready. Say publicly that the investigation will take five years, then have it ready and hit them with it in 60 days, catch them unprepared and that upper hand may just give you the win.
