TOPEKA, KS (KCTV) - A Kansas board that denied a licensed doctor of osteopathic medicine a license was primarily concerned about the man's political views.
The Kansas State Board of Healing Arts is a 15-member panel appointed by the governor and decides the fate of doctors in Kansas.
Terrence Lee Lakin rose to the ranks of lieutenant colonel in the U.S. Army. He served on the front lines in Afghanistan and the war zone in Bosnia as well as a medical mission to Honduras. He saved lives around the world and received a Bronze Star for his service.
"I like helping people," said Lakin. "And I've been, since college wanting to be in medical field and help others."
But a dispute over whether President Barack Obama was born in the United States led to Lakin being forced from the military and apparently led to the Kansas board in October denying him a medical license to practice in the Sunflower State.
The board repeatedly refused comment on their decision, but a transcript of Lakin's shows board members didn't concern themselves with Lakin's 18-year spotless medical record.
"They hammered me for my political views," said Lakin. -----
----- KCTV5's investigation reveals that in 2008, the KSBHA board approved the license of another doctor with a history of medical mistakes and malpractice payouts. One patient died after a drill mishap in the operating room. A surgical error caused repeated electrical shocks to a second patient. And a third patient wasn't even that doctor's patient. The physician didn't notice, ended up performing brain surgery on the wrong man and caused permanent damage.
The board refused our repeated requests for an interview about the decisions it makes and the seeming disparity of these two cases. A renowned University of Pennsylvania medical ethicist, Art Caplan, agreed to weigh in on the situation.
"Political beliefs, I think, should play no role," said Caplan. "Is it going to be a popularity contest that decides what political views you can have as a doctor? Or is it going to be the majority views that decides what political views you can have? Obviously, again - I don't think this is relevant to who practices well."
Lakin agrees with Caplan. "I knew medical boards had a bad reputation. I had hoped this issue would have nothing to do with my practice."
Lakin's only recourse now is a judicial appeal, but he's uncertain that he can afford the costs. He has a book coming out this month detailing his experiences.

A political witch hunt by stacy bond and the kansas medical board is ABOVE dispicable. A tragic loss for the people of the state of kansas....
A full pardon and restoration of all benefits for Lakin should be on the top of the "to-do" list of all non-Obama Presidential candidates.
I do believe that this now shows "standing" in a case against Obama.
He should definately sue them.
If the hearing "Transcript" can be argued as conclusive evidence of the 'denial of license and livelihood' based on his protected 1st Amendment Rights and caused by his views regarding his concern of the usurpation of the Office of POTUS he stands as a "peculiar and particularized person" insofar as the needs of a Quo Warranto Petition is concerned, IMO.
(Were I he I would not hesitate, but the greatest harm I have received personally for attempting to be Certified or Acknowledged as being an American natural born Citizen has been only ridicule and disappointment in the Judicial system.)
But from what I have read into the remarks and interviews of LTC Lakin is that he does not have the fire in the belly to do more on the subject than he has.
However, to date I do not know of anyone that has suffered personally more than he at the hands of the Usurper Regime.
TRAVESTY OF JUSTICE. WHO IS THE BITCH PRESENTING THE CASE FOR THE STATE?
WHEN THE NEXT PRESIDENT TAKES BACK THE WHITE HOUSE, THAT NEXT PRESIDENT NEEDS TO PARDON THIS PATRIOT DR. LAKIN.
So knowing the difference between shit and shinola makes you an incompetent doctor in Kansas? WTF is going on medical board physicians?
Guys, realize who is from Kansas? HHS Secretary Kathleen "Bilderberg 2007 with Rick Perry" Sebelius!

Which is proof that you know nothing about standing or quo warranto.
Send the above to Drudge, Rush, Breitbart, Hannity, Levin, Hewitt, Beck, O'Reilly, Greta, etc. It appears that First Amendment rights are being denied Lt. Col. Lakin for taking a stance against Herr Dicktator. Every one of those board members who voted to deny him a license based on his political views should be fired. Also, there should be a massive collection to help him seek legal counsel in order to sue. Perhaps he can call the Landmark Legal Foundation for help.
This could be the last straw!
We have to be a little fucked up ourselves if we can't see that the only way to resolve this is by forming ranks and marching on the capitol. And also be prepared to make hundreds, possibly thousands of arrests. All these ballot challenges, idiot sheriff reports that don't exist, and law suits will always amount to nothing more than us being a step closer to total enslavement Keep it up, we're almost there. Before long, you can all go join that idiot sheriff and his report.
this must be the definition of "fair or fairness" homObama always spews.
Don't worry, Kansas. You won't lack for doctors:
"The affirmative action med student will see you now."

Depose members of the medical board. defendant pays fees and costs.

"However, to date I do not know of anyone that has suffered personally more than he at the hands of the Usurper Regime."
I think Donald Young might argue with that.
a panel of ppl who clearly know NOTHING about this issue or the anomalies associated with the alleged LFBC ,get to railroad Col Lakin based on solely on his political opinion and their own lack of education on the matter .Col Lakin is a patriot and a hero , none of them are worthy of judging him on ANY SUBJECT .
Terry Lakin's huge mistake was allowing his attorney to talk him into copping a guilty plea. That doomed him.
Administrative violation under Military Law.
A civilian tribunal chooses to convict and punish him a second time for an infraction that is an administrative violation under the UCMJ, under which they have no jurisdiction?
Do you disbar lawyers or decertify engineers or delicense physicians because they get speeding tickets? Because they get parking tickets? Because they "pay up" from an IRS audit? How many practice in Kansas who have been rehabbed for used of illegal drugs? DUI?
The KS board seems to have violated the underlying basics of double jeopardy. The punishment for the administrative violation arising from his use of the First Amendment as an American Citizen in uniform was the designation of having dishonored himself and thus being returned to full civilian life. The DD was the punishment. He was punished and he did his time. He cannot be repeatedly tried and punished for the same episode of administrative violation.
There is no parallel or corrolary that justifies the misapplication of the DD in this particular case as the board appears to have done.
But they still have nearly unilateral power to say "No."
It may be that Lakin appeared psychologically unstable to the board. He clearly had a legal issue with an incumbent legal test under Kansas law, yet he brought no duly licensed attorney? That in itself is the height of irresponsibility. Defending the core of his professional interest as physician with a known issue bearing points of law against his eligibility for licensure and he comes nekked as jaybird with his physician brother from Colorado who USED to be lawyer but never in Kansas?
This is not evidence of professional responsibility; nor competence; nor mental fitness. You come with a real, duly licensed lawyer and all the evidence in support of your application buttoned up tight.
And did that happen? Nope. Doesn't seem so. And that's very flakey.
I wish Lakin no harm, but the transcripts provided a rather bizarre read. Even when the physician board member stated that he had seen there had been produced a long form birth certificate, what did Lakin do?
He should have said. "Really? I have not been able to find one. Not even the military could produce one. Could you please produce it? Perhaps we should table the hearing so we can reconvene with the long form BC present and that part of the overarching issue resolved. I am certainly willing to accept it if I could be shown the real thing. Certainly the board would want to see it validated as well."
But no. That didn't happen either.
Maybe there's more demonstrated by Larkin that led to the board's refusal to license him; demeanor and conduct that a typed transcript is not capable of demonstrating.
There are certainly those of us who love Jesus. And we know there are certainly those among us who spend their life trying to build Cross #4 on Calvary Hill. Yes, there are those who set themselves up for problems so they can act-out some fantasy of martyrdom on of a self-constructed crucifix, all the while ignoring that Jesus did it so they don't have to.
OH, My God! I have NEVER been so afraid of my government as I am after hearing this! what did they say "what will it take to make you believe Obama is a citizen?" WTF!! We ARE living in the age of Big Brother, re-education camps. The worst scenarios of tyranny are happening right now in the new "USSA"! They persecuted/prosecuted this honorable man for questioning the greatest fraud ever perpetrated against this country, do all they did to destroy him, and now a medical board in Kansas won't allow him to renew his medical license?? I am so frightened for this country, all of our freedoms and those of our children. God help us.
For the idiot that discussed double jeopardy...please read up on a topic before discussing it. Double jeopardy is for CRIMINAL proceedings (the privilege to have a medical license is administrative in nature). Even then, it is only applicable if it is the same sovereign. I would explain that too, but it's not worth my time.
Hundreds of years ago our forefathers revolted against foreign rule with deadly force. I suspect things were not nearly so bad by government rule then as they are now.
7 million jews died under the same mindset of government as we have today.
How long will America keep it's head in the sand?
Hey admin,
